Is Breast-feeding Hard?

I will be breast-feeding for the first time when my son is born this May. To me, it seems pretty straightforward and simple once you get the hang of it. I plan on investing in a high-end breast pump. I’m sure my baby will be attached at the hip LOL, but I love the idea of still being able to go out to a movie or have daddy feed baby on a moments notice if needed. Basically I would love to have a nice stockpile on hand at all times in fridge/freezer along with exclusively nursing.
I am a stay at home mom already to a 12 month old currently, so I have the time. Or so I think. When I tell my mom, or mother-in-law, or any breast feeding friend at that, about my plans to have dad help with feedings or having stock for date nights out, they all look at me like I’m crazy. I don’t plan on going out nightly. By that, I mean maybe once or twice a month and maybe dad helping once or twice a day.
Anyways, from first-hand moms, all I’m hearing is exclusively breast-feeding will be hard enough alone. And with adding on trying to pump as often as I would like, it will be next to impossible. Has anyone done this successfully? Or is it not possible at all. I’m starting to think this whole breast-feeding thing will be much more of a challenge then I think it will.
Any comments, helpful hints, or advice would be much much appreciated. I have no idea what I’m getting myself into and would love to have some sort of insight.
(I will breast feed regardless, so please honest answers only. if its the hardest thing ever just say so lol)
