I’m 35 weeks pregnant and a buddy of mines just had her baby several weeks ago. For a baby shower present I gave her a nice breast pump and some other things. I’ve never been a cheap Baby shower gift giver. Though a gift is a gift. She was saying throughout her whole pregnancy that she wanted to breast feed. That’s why I bought it for her.
After she had the Baby she was complaining continuously that she was tired of whipping her breast out on demand for feeding the Baby. I said well…just use the pump. You can use the pump to pump as much as you want and then store and feed when Baby is ready. She kept saying she can’t find the breast pump anywhere in her home. Well I was at her home the other day and her Mother told me without me even asking that she took back the breast pump and pocketed the money. I was at her shower so I know for a fact that no one else bought her another pump. She even complained that she should throw away some of the cheesy gifts she received. She even tried to give me some shoes that she didn’t like for her son, and said if I didn’t take them she will trash them. I mean I did put the gift receipt in there for the purpose of exchanging it for whatever the Baby needs, but I never thought she would lie to me about it! I don’t care that she took it back but was it socially acceptable to lie about returning it?
