Breast Feeding Help And Advice Please?

Any advice at all on it would be great
I want to use the Medela Swing electric breast pump as I don’t want to breast feed in public. How long do you breast feed for? Till baby’s 6 months or longer? If my baby didn’t latch on or it was painful could I pump and bottle feed my baby with my milk? I’m determinded to give him my milk rather then formula. How do you know when they’re full, and how often do they need feeding? :S
Sorry the all the questions I just have no idea about it as I’m a first time mum :’)
